About This Home

The space

Thomas Lodge "Vermont" is fresh off of a complete overhaul. It is located on the second floor of a small building with just 4 homes.

You enter into the building and into your home with your own chosen code that will be programmed into the electronic locks... no cumbersome organizing for a key exchange! No concerns about arriving and departing at odd hours.

The condo opens to the kitchen and living area. The open concept living area/kitchen features a dining table for 4 (expands to accommodate more), wall-mounted television with robust DirecTV package and DVD player, queen size sleeper sofa (with highest end sofa bed mattress on the market) and a kitchen counter with three bar stools. The kitchen has brand new stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, oven, electric range and microwave. There is a small outdoor deck off of the living room, and there is also a full-size stackable washer and dryer right in your home.

Down the hall from the living area is the bedroom. It is furnished with a king size bed and two nightstands, a chest of drawers and closet. There is plenty of natural light from the windows, but shades provide adequate darkness for lazy mornings sleeping in.

The full bathroom sits just outside the bedroom, as does a linen closet.

With this rental, you also get dedicated, secure off-street parking in the garage just below the building.

This home had a total renovation in fall 2015. In additional to brand new kitchen appliances, there is new hardwood flooring throughout the living/dining space and the bathroom is freshly tiled. The wood cabinets and granite counter tops have been newly installed. The doors have been replaced. All of the furniture has just been delivered.

Each unit in this building has been decorated to pay homage to a meaningful location from our past. This home has a Vermont theme, with tasteful and playful decor celebrating Lynne's childhood New England home.

This home is equipped with a window air conditioner in the living room.

Guest access

Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay.

You will have access to the entire condo, including garage parking for one car (and plentiful free street parking for additional vehicles). Additional garage parking may be available with prior arrangement.
 

Interaction with guests

Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live right down the block. Unless we are out of town, we are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and even some budget saving tips and coupons.

Guests will receive, in advance, our comprehensive homemade visitors' guide to Seattle, packed with our personal recommendations for dining, activities, and much more.

Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival.
 

The neighborhood

Your hosts made Madison Valley their home when settling in Seattle 5 years ago... and haven't looked back since.

We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington.

Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris") has to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more.

Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot.

If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
 

Getting around

We live a few short blocks from bus lines that will take you to Seattle's numerous neighborhoods (Madison Park, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Belltown, Seattle Center, South Lake Union). Queen Anne, Ballard, and Fremont are more easily accessed by car. Our home offers garage parking for one car. Street parking for additional cars is plentiful and free.
