About This Home

The space

This newly furnished and remodeled home has modern amenities, a quiet location, and proximity to all that Seattle has to offer.

The entry level features the main living area with gleaming hardwood floors. This open concept space has a newly remodeled kitchen with gas stove and brand new stainless steel appliances. There is a small breakfast nook to seat 3 as well as a bar top with 3 stools. The living/dining area is compact; the dining table accommodates another 4, so please do note that larger groups will be spread over the breakfast nook, counter, and table. There is also a very comfortable full size sleeper sofa (with the best mattress available... no aching backs upon waking up!), DVD, and cable TV. Enjoy our collection of games (Scrabble, cards, etc.) in front of the pellet fireplace.

The main floor has the first bedroom ("European autos") with a king bed. There is also a full bathroom, which was recently renovated.
Downstairs is a daylight basement level with two bedrooms and another full bathroom (shower only). The "American autos" bedroom has a twin over full sized bunk bed, while the "Asian autos" bedroom has a queen bed. The downstairs bathroom also holds the washer/dryer. You will also find a very large storage room, perfect for keeping your luggage and other belongings out of the way during your stay!

The greatest feature of this home is its outdoor space. The back of the home has a wood deck with barbecue, and a table large enough for everyone to enjoy al fresco dining. Connected to this is a grass yard that runs along the side of the home.

Each of our homes has been decorated with a playful theme, making it more engaging than your typical rental home or hotel. This home pays homage to the world of autos. Vroom vroom!

This home is equipped with window air conditioners in the living room and master bedroom.

Guest access

Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay.

You will have access to the entire home, including a fenced in yard and back deck with barbecue. Note that there is plentiful free street parking right outside your front door. There is never a challenge to get multiple spots without straying far at all.
 

Interaction with guests

Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live right in the neighborhood. We are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and even some budget saving tips and coupons.

Guests will receive, in advance, our comprehensive homemade visitors' guide to Seattle, packed with our personal recommendations for dining, activities, and much more.

Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival.
 

The neighborhood

This 3 bedroom home is central to everything Madison Valley has to offer: great restaurants, parks, hiking, supermarkets, day spas, and more.

Your hosts made Madison Valley their home when first settling in Seattle ... and haven't looked back since.

We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington.

Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris") has to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more.

Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot.

If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
 

Getting around

We live a few short blocks from bus lines that will take you to Seattle's numerous neighborhoods (Madison Park, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Belltown, Seattle Center, South Lake Union). Queen Anne, Ballard, and Fremont are more easily accessed by car. Our home offers garage parking for one car. Street parking for additional cars is plentiful and free.

Off-peak weekday: $150-225

Off-peak holiday: $250-350
Summer weekday: $225-300

Summer holiday: $350-450

Extra guest fee: $25 per night for each guest above 6

Discounts are available for stays over 30 days

*Summer holidays include Memorial Day, July 4, Seafair, and Labor Day. Graduation weekend is priced above these dates and will require a 4 night minimum stay.
