About This Home

The space

This home has it all: modern amenities, a quiet location, and proximity to all that Seattle has to offer.

The living areas are spread over several levels, affording great privacy for all sorts of groups.

The entry level has a full bathroom, laundry room and coat closet.

Half a flight of stairs down is the first bedroom, outfitted with a queen bed and direct access to a deck.

Half a flight up the stairs is another bedroom, which offers great flexibility. It is furnished with a twin over twin bunk bed, and another full sized bed.

Up one more level is the main living area. This open concept space has a kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. This flows directly to the dining area which includes 3 stools at the breakfast counter, and a dining table that seats 8 and expands to accommodate more. Continuing from the dining room is the sunken living room, featuring DirecTV satellite service. There is a queen size sleeper sofa for larger groups. Enjoy family time in front of our gas fireplace. The living room opens to a small porch. This floor also features a powder room.

Continuing up to the top floor, you arrive at the full-floor master suite. The master suite has a king bed with dual nightstands, a crib and a dresser with mirror. There is a balcony with fantastic views overlooking Madison Valley. On a clear day, enjoy the Cascade Mountain Range in the distance. The master suite has a large walk-in closet and a 5-piece bathroom with soaking tub, his and her sinks, and a toilet separated by a door for privacy. This room also provides access to a large deck with BBQ and outdoor dining table.

AIR CONDITIONING
Air conditioning is a real rarity in Seattle.  This home does not have central A/C, but does have a small window unit air conditioner in the master bedroom and living room.

As painstakingly described in this listing, the living spaces are spread across 4 floors.  The home is located 1-2 flights of stairs above street level.  Guests must be comfortable with stairs.  Please don’t express surprise during your stay that the home has a lot of stairs!

Guest access

The home is secured by a smart lock.  After booking, you will be invited to choose the 4 digit code that will be active during the hours of your stay.

The neighborhood

This home is central to everything Madison Valley has to offer: great restaurants, parks, hiking, supermarkets, day spas, and more.

Your hosts made Madison Valley their home when settling in Seattle in 2010... and haven't looked back since.

We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington.

Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris") has to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more.

Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot.

If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
